We are so glad to meet with you today. Please respond and tell us a way that you have used something from the grade level meetings in you classroom? We all would like to know! :~)

Cool blog!
I love the arrow cards.
The cool activities for reaching students have been very useful!!!!
The hands on activities have been great. My students were so excited I was coming today to learn new fun ideas. Thanks!!!
I really enjoy all of the hands on activities and manipulatives that we can leave with.
The math trainings throughout the year have been EXTREMELY beneficial. I have received so many wonderful hands on applications which I am using and will continue to use within my classroom. This has truly been the most worthwhile training I have had provided by the board of education.
I really value the hands-on activities and the materials we receive at the trainings...things we can't find the time to put together!
I have used the arrow cards to teach place value. My students really enjoyed them!
I have been able to use some of the materials that we created during our previous setting. My kids worked with the number strips-I had them color each 10 grouping different colors. Also, I have used counters to help with math facts.
These sessions are very helpful to me - I think it is important that teachers get together and discuss what is going on - and ideas to take back with us for the students. I hope that it ensures that everyone is open minded and working together...
I really learned a lot from the technology workshops that were held over the summer. I would like to receive more trainings like this especially over training point and using the clickers.
I really think the idea of talking partners is a worthwhile and meaningful experience in the classroom. The children are actively involved in their learning, making them more active participants in the learning process. The hands on activities that we are able to implement immediately have been valuable. These are things that we can take back to the classroom and start teaching right away. They allow for students to construct their own meaning rather than the teacher being the focus of the lesson.
Hello,
Thank you for creating an on line resource for teachers. I hope that this will become a place where we can post ideas and share as a county. With the amount of transient students, we need to think like a county.
I have really enjoyed the hands on activities. Being able to actually be the student and do the activities myself has been very beneficial to me as a teacher. It helps me to see potential problems that may occur in the classroom. I have really enjoyed these sessions. I think that I have become a stronger math teacher since taking these trainings.
I used the five frame and made a five page book to do the numbers one throught five. I used the red/yellow round counter to demonstrate the number. Using both colors on the counter(s), we wrote all addition sentences/subtraction sentences that could be made from the counter/counters used. From these the addition number sentences, we made dominoes to match the number sentence. We extended this to also show the number represented in the 5 frame as a die, tallies, picture, and money. The students were very engage and saw the numbers in varies representation.
hi
I have not been using the partner sharing. I plan to use it as soon as we establish our classroom criteria for sharing!
I really enjoy these trainings. Also, I have been using the powerpoint bank through our web site and it is awesome! Thank you for all of your time in creating that for us!
Looking forward to trying some of the great ideas that have been presented.
I love all the new math hands-on materials that we have been able to make and take with us back to our classrooms.
My students really enjoy math! I enjoy teaching it too.
I really like the ABCE response cards. We use them as a quick review at the end of a lesson. Our MIT has also been very helpful in getting new ideas and games to us. Thanks so much.
I do talking partners. To prepare them for this, I ask them a question such as "What is your favorite animal?" and then I make the partner tell what the other partner said. It is so hard for first graders to do this. Once they are really listening to their partners, they are more ready for real discussions.
First grade at Kirksville appreciates the trainings!
I have really enjoyed being able to do the hands on with the computers. It helps me to remember things better.
I think this would be a really great resource for me as a first grade teacher!! I like to hear other people's ideas!
The rainforest website was terrific. The money game was not though. Check it out!
All the different links are great. This is very helpful when planning lessons.
